Bachelor of Business Administration

Accounting The Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting is a 128 credit program for students who wish to learn accounting and prepare for careers in business or government. Students who wish to meet the 150-credit hour licensure requirements for a public accounting career will need to supplement this program with additional graduate study. Yes
Accounting 150* The 150-credit Bachelor of Business Administration program gives students a chance to obtain the necessary credits for certification at the undergraduate level in a flexible program. Students take extra courses in specialized accounting topics as well as additional electives. No
Legal Studies in Business Legal Studies in Business is designed to help aspiring business leaders gain a clear view of the legal environment of business, to enhance their abilities to think and communicate effectively, and to develop effective strategies for managing legal risks. Yes
*New York State currently requires a minimum of 150 semester hours of education in order to obtain CPA certification. The Department of Accounting, Taxation and Legal Studies in Business offers several programs that satisfy the requirement.* *Requirements vary from state to state and are subject to change at any time. Dual Degree Programs
Bachelor of Business Administration/Master of Science in Accounting (BBA/MSA) Bachelor of Business Administration/Master of Science in Taxation (BBA/MST) Bachelor of Business Administration/Master of Business Administration (BBA/MBA) Juris Doctor/Master of Business Administration (JD/MBA)
Students enrolled in a dual degree program obtain an MS in either Taxation or Accounting as part of a structured five-year program. Students selecting this option must apply for this program and will begin their graduate studies during their senior year.

Graduate Programs and Courses
Programs Description
Master of Science Accounting This degree offers students who have studied business at either the undergraduate and graduate level an opportunity to earn all of the accounting credits required for licensure in New York State.
Master of Science Taxation This degree is for students with an accounting background who want to specialize in tax. This program is also licensure qualifying when combined with the appropriate undergraduate coursework.
Master of Business Admininstration(MBA) (Accounting or Taxation) This degree is available to students pursuing managerial positions in accounting or taxation who are not pursuing licensure. Students in this program with additional prior accounting course work, or who take supplemental courses, may also pursue licensure.
Professional Accountancy This degree offers students with no undergraduate business courses the opportunity to earn the accounting and business credits required for New York State licensure. This degree requires additional coursework than the MBA with a specialization in Accounting and Taxation.
